How to use the gst calculator
- Enter the amount and choose the GST rate.
- Say whether the amount already includes GST.
- Pick the buyer's state to split the tax as CGST + SGST or IGST.
How it's worked out
Add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100. Remove GST: price before GST = amount ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100).
Within your state the tax is split half CGST and half SGST; to another state it is all IGST.
Questions sellers ask
What are the GST rates now?
Since 22 September 2025 most goods are at 5% or 18%, with 40% for a small list of luxury and sin goods, and 3% for jewellery. Some invoices still need the older 12% or 28%, so those are in the list too.
GST inclusive price se GST kaise nikaalein?
Price ko (1 + rate/100) se divide kijiye. Jaise ₹1,180 me 18% GST: 1180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000 aur GST ₹180.
When is it CGST + SGST and when IGST?
A sale to a buyer in your own state is CGST + SGST, split equally. A sale to another state is IGST. Marketplace orders follow the buyer's delivery address.
